I knew there was more to life then working 9-5. I knew that there was more for people other than the traditional work model and daily grind was not the best way to spend most of your time. That there was a better way to earn an income and life a life full of adventure, freedom and balance.
I've been fortunate to experience some incredible jobs that have taken me all around the world and to Australia's most breathtaking destinations.
From swanning around the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef on boats and helicopters to working on super yachts all around the world to selling wine for some of the top wineries in Australia and New Zealand.
Each role seemed like a dream come true! We even ticked the goal of owning our own brick and mortar businesses!
Despite these dream positions, the rigid 9-5 structure and the demands of these positions and owning businesses were not filling my cup up. I felt like I was forcing myself out of bed every day to live a life half lived by spending so much time at work doing something I wasn't thriving in.
Trying to meet unrealistic corporate expectations and literally doing the daily grind and counting down the days to live life on the weekends or for four weeks holidays per year! My husband and I both lost our parents prematurely, which was obviously devasting and taught us tomorrow is not promised for anyone.
Working in a job or a traditional business until retirement was not how we wanted to live our lives, we wanted to start living life NOW not just on days off.
This heartbreaking situation reinforced my determination to live FULLY and authentically as often as we can. Living a life full of fun, balance and adventure and helping others do the same!
